FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS N°1

Some weeks ago, we gave you the possibility on Instagram to ask us some questions, so that we could answer them on our blog. And here we are! We really appreciated doing it and interacting with you. Some questions are very interesting to answer and we will do it again without any hesitation.

If money was not an issue, what type of holiday would you take?

We would visit a lot of things in the country where we are, several cities and several places in order to have a good overview of it. But mostly, we would go near the beach, with turquoise sea, in a hotel with a beautiful view.

What’s your worst vacation memory?

It is definitely what happened in Warsaw with the papers stolen. We invite you to read the article about this anecdote; it can also be helpful for you to know how we handled with it.

Your next destination for you both (ideally, because with the sanitary crisis…)?

We would like to say El Salvador or Greece, but the most important now is to stay home and see how things are going to evolve. We are looking for destinations in France.

Did you plan a trip in Africa when it will be possible? Or in Creuse?

We think a lot of Morocco and Egypt. We did not think of Creuse, but it might be an idea for the following years.

Have you ever brought a package tour?

Never, we love having our liberty and doing things on our own, the way we want to do them. But of course, for some countries, we will take one because it is easier and safer.

Your dream destination on each continent?

Europe: Greece, Ireland
Africa: Morocco, Egypt
America: United States, Brazil and Argentina
Asia: China, Japan
Oceania: Australia, New Zeland

What’s the best place for a vacation in your country?

Paris is a wonderful city to visit, but also Alsace and the south of France, which have big treasures to share. Bordeaux is for sure a city we recommend as well.

What are some things you always take with you on a trip?

We always have an external battery, a camera, a little pocket to keep money, a paper with our itinerary, a jacket and comfort shoes. We also like taking a book in order to read in the plane or in the evening.

What countries would you like to visit?

We have done a whole article about it which is going to be released very soon. Stay tuned to learn more !

Do you like to travel with your parents?

Of course, it is always good to travel with family and share beautiful moments with them.

Do you plan going to Morocco?

Yes! We plan to start with Marrakech and then we will see!

Who was the most interesting person you met?

In Copenhagen, we met an old French lady who was completely lost because she did not speak English and she could not be understood by the hostel staff. She asked for our help during her whole stay and we tried to do our best to help her. It was interesting to see how English is necessary to communicate abroad.

What countries would you not like to visit?

Ideally we would like to go everywhere, but some political and sanitary situations prevent us to visit some places we would like to yet.

Do you like to try local food when you travel?

Of course! It is part of the country’s culture, and it is always a pleasure to taste traditional food and restaurants different than the ones we are used to. Before traveling, we (or at least 50% of us) make a research about local food we must taste. It could be various dishes or just the most traditional one.

How often you do travel?

We try as much as possible, but being also responsible for the planet concerning travels by plane. We do not have to forget that there are a lot of wonderful places near to where we live, and other ones we can go to by train or bus.

How long do you like vacations to be?

We like a whole week at least, more than two if we are in a far destination.

How much luggage do you usually carry?

We always have our backpack and we try to take a suitcase for two, in order to pay less and not to be annoyed by a lot of luggage to carry.

Have you visited many touristic places in your country?

Of course. It is very important to know your country, there are always wonderful places to discover, even if it is not very far from where you live.

Do you like to pack light when you travel?

Yes. As we said, we want to pay the least and move more freely. And we love keeping place to come back with souvenirs from our destination, so we usually do not bring a lot of things, just the necessary.  

How often do you go camping?

We have never been yet, but we would like to try (we already have some ideas where we would like to…)

Do you like traveling alone or in a group?

It is two different experiences and different types of travels. Both have their advantages and their inconveniences. Obviously, we are freer if we travel alone. It is also easier to plan and to agree on what we want to do and when. On the other hand, there is a very nice atmosphere when we are in group.

What’s your best vacation memory?

The cruise in Copenhagen was amazing and we had a magical time. We had the impression that everything around us was perfect as we did not think of any problems or any bad things, there was just the joy of being there together.

What means of transport do you like to use when you are on vacation?

We often use metro, bus and tramway, but our favorite one is on foot, which allows to better get to know the city, to see things you would never have seen if you had taken a bus or a metro.

What are some of the benefits of traveling alone?

First, you can do what you want whatever you want. You can choose which activity to do, when you want to get up, where you want to eat, where you want to take pictures without anyone to hurry you… You organize yourself the way you want. And of course, we have the same answer as everyone has: you learn a lot about yourself, you gain confidence because you prove to yourself that you are able to do things you would never have imagined you could do. And that is a great feeling, which changes your behavior forever.
