Our second day was the continuity of the first one. Indeed, we went to the Orsay Museum, located next to the Louvre, which is the continuity of this latter’s collection. Orsay has the expressionist and pointillist exhibitions. It is set in the former train station of Orsay and is worth it even if only for the architecture.
Personally, Monnet’s and Degas’ paintings dazzled us. It is very pleasant to walk in the central corridor, full of statues and sculptures, and raise our eyes to admire the immensity of the place.
In the highest floor, you can take a splendid picture with the clock and have a sensational view over Paris.
After that, we went in the Tuileries Garden right next to the Louvre. The fountains are amazing, the colors of the flowers have a great charm. For a moment we got the impression of being far from the capital’s noise, even if escaping from the crowd and tourists is difficult in that place.
Not far from there, you can walk along the Seine and go to the Ile de la Cité. You will see the Notre-Dame Cathedral which is unfortunately closed because of the fire that happened in April 2019. But we had the chance to visit the monument when it was still open and the cathedral has one of the most beautiful façades we’ve ever seen.

We ended our day with a walk along the Seine and we stopped in a creperie in a cheap and delicious food truck. On the evening, we went to the Rue Mouffetard to see the cheap bars and the nice atmosphere that reigns there.
Our third day was dedicated to the visit of the Latin Quarter. We visited the famous Panthéon, noticeable thanks to its façade and architecture. If you are students, you can enter for free. You can see the graves of Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Zola… and a lot of personalities who leave their mark in France. You shall obviously be respectful as it is a solemn place. We were annoyed and shocked by some people who were talking loud and had not an appropriate behavior. Nonetheless, the inside of the monument is incredible and we really liked this visit.
Not far from the Panthéon, you can find the main building of Sorbonne University which is astonishing.
Don’t hesitate to have a look at it. If you go down to the Boulevard Saint-Michel, you will see the Gibert Joseph bookshop. New and second-hand books are available and this bookshop is a real goldmine (you can find everything!) and you will come across some wonders. There is also a Gibert papershop and a Gibert for music and DVDs.
Finally, do not forget to have a walk in the Luxembourg Gardens, right in the center and next to the Latin Quarter. This place, surrounded by a golden gate, seems to be idyllic: you will see wonderful fountains, statues… This is one of the places we like the most in the city.

Even if we evoked in our previous article the fact that it was difficult to discover Paris only by walking, some places are very pleasant to have a walk. These places deserve the same attention as the historical monuments. The city’s noises disappear during these instants and one can enjoy the Paris that inspired artists and travelers.
